Bio

The Mariguanas are an alternative rock band formed at the State University of New York College at Oneonta. They released their first single, "Banger," in March 2017, their second single, "Young Bool," in July 2017, and their debut album, The Ruckus, in April of 2018. The band has performed at various venues and events in New York State over the past two years.

The Mariguanas started as a school combo ensemble performing covers of acts such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, Rage Against The Machine, and The Arctic Monkeys. However, when the semester ended the five musicians continued to play together and write original music. Their music is strongly influenced by those bands they covered as well as hip hop artists such as Kendrick Lamar and psychedelic rock bands such as Tame Impala.

The Mariguanas received a large amount of recognition after their feature on the popular YouTube channel, Hellthy Junkfood. The band assisted in the creation of a giant Pop-Tart as well as performed their original songs live on the show. The band recently graduated college and are now performing in the New York Tri-state area at venues such as The Bitter End, Arlene's Grocery, Mulcahy's Concert Hall, and Revolution Music Hall.
